Marcelo Ribeiro (born 1970) is a Brazilian actor, best known for having played the boy in the movie "Love Strange Love".
In 1981, he was chosen out of 500 boys by director Walter Hugo Khouri to participate in Eros, the God of Love (1981), where he did some steamy scenes with Kate Lyra. During the filming, Khouri noted the sexual curiosity it had on a child and decided to write his next film Love Strange Love (1982), in which the protagonist Marcelo Ribeiro played the pre-adolescent Hugo, along with Brazilian superstars Vera Fischer and Xuxa.
Two years later, Ribeiro starred in Sin Horizontal, but after these three films, he left acting to work behind the camera and became a film production assistant. He studied photography & has a small studio. Currently, Ribeiro is a technical computer instructor at a multinational school.
In 2014 Marcelo Ribeiro, now 38 years old, starred in a direct-to-DVD porno movie in Brazil. The DVD will be called "Strange Love".
The title is almost identical to that of the controversial film. Marcelo is writing a tell-all book about those childhood years.
Excerpt from Marcelo Ribeiro's 2007 Interview with "Folha De S.Paulo" magazine:
What was it like for a 12-year-old boy, at puberty, to shoot the erotic scenes?
Ribeiro: In my first move, "Eros, O Deus do Amor," I did not know how to act very well. They put tape "there" because I could not control myself. I learned to separate what was work and what was intimate. But, of course, it's always an embarrassing situation. The set was very mystical, and you never know what will happen.
In "Love Strange Love" you also used tape?
Ribeiro: No, they were normal nude scenes.
